The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

A neo-gothic romance/horror version of the classic novel "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving. In 18th century New York City, a young constable by the name of Ichabod Crane comes up with the revolutionary idea of using science to help solve police investigations. Seen as a potential threat by the establishment, Crane is sent upstate to the small town of 'Sleepy Hollow' to investigate a series of murders that have taken place. In the dark sinister woodlands on the outskirts of town, several decapitated bodies have been discovered - believed to be the work of a ghostly apparition in the form of a headless axe-wielding knight ontop a midnight black horse. While the town residents think that this headless horseman is a supernatural creature of evil, the somewhat cowardly yet intelligent Crane isn't so easily convinced. As he begins his investigations, he falls hard for Katrina Van Tassel, a beautiful young woman who has many muscle-bound but somewhat dim-witted suitors vying for her affection. In order to win her hand and prove himself to the townfolk and his superiors, he pursues the answers to the mystery with his collection of unusual inventions. But this is one legend that may be all too real as Ichabod soon discovers he does not have to look for the headless horseman as it is already coming after him
